We've just started with 2 Kanji.
二 which means 2,三 means 3, and 八 which means 8

Have you noticed that Katakanas' ニ, 三, and 八 look alike Kanji's ニ, 三, and 八, that we've just learned??
Hiragana and Katakana's origins are Kanji.
Origin of Katakana's ハ is exactly the 八 of Kanji.
Origin of Katakana's ミ is exactly the 三 of Kanji.
When you write Katakana's ミ, don'f forget to slant them diagonally a lit bit.
Though the origin of Katakana's 二 is not Kanji's 二、the original Kanji contains 二.
Sometimes, knowing the original of Hiragana or Katakana will help your Nihongo study.
Now, let's move to 3 Hiragana.
い、こ、り
い【i】

In this time, you can see Katakana's リ and Hiragana's り are alike.
Let's see the origin.
The origin of Katakana's リ is 利
And for Hiragna, it's 利 also.
Now you know why these 2 letters are look alike.
