Hiragana and Katakana's origins are Kanji.
Origin of Katakana's ハ is exactly the 八 of Kanji.
Origin of Katakana's ミ is exactly the 三 of Kanji.
When you write Katakana's ミ, don'f forget to slant them diagonally a lit bit.
Though the origin of Katakana's 二 is not Kanji's 二、the original Kanji contains 二.
Sometimes, knowing the original of Hiragana or Katakana will help your Nihongo study.
